Well here goes my first blog post. I recently joined Software Bisque as a Systems Engineer and the Staff Astrophysicist. I also work at Sommers-Baush Observatory at The University of Colorado Boulder as the "Systems Overlord", which is a fun way of saying I manage the telescopes, which include two Paramount Taurus 500's with Planewave CDK 20" telescopes, and a 24" Boller and Chivens, as well as managing the control systems, our servers, and our computer lab. I graduated from CU Boulder with a Degree in Astronomy specializing in Astrophysics. I have also worked in IT the last years.
I have already been working on tons of things here at Software Bisque, and will be posting a whole lot more here in the future. Here in the next few days I am heading out on a research trip to South Africa. I am traveling with SWRI, The South West Research Institute, to observe an occultation. Our target is the Kuiper Belt object 2014 MU69. I am also looking forward to doing some Astrophotography in the Southern Hemisphere, as I have never seen the southern skies before.
