I have a Paramount ME Equatorial mount purchased in early 2011. It worked well so far and I did not have any problems, but I have just ordered the MKS 5000 upgrade kit. I bought it because of convenience such as USB port or power cord for CCD camera, but I am not sure whether it is a more worthy choice compared to the MKS 4000. What are the advantages compared to the MKS 4000?

And I watched your video for worm gear lubrication. In this YouTube video, Molykote 33 or No. 105 is recommended. Unfortunately, here in South Korea, both are not sold. Are there another alternatives?

Please look here for a post that describes the differences of the MKS control systems. We are no longer making the MKS4000 boards, so if something were to go wrong, the inventory for replacement boards are limited. That being said, the mks5000 is a great choice to increase the longevity of your Paramount.

You can purchase either of those from Software Bisque if necessary, but they can be purchased online for example from Amazon
